Why Using A CFP® Can Help Your Financial Outlook

Financial Asset Management Corporation |

The concept of retirement is a young ideal in the history of mankind. Throughout most of human history, people continued working or remained with their family as they aged. It wasn't that long ago that the Golden Years of life were characterized by part-time jobs and taking up residence with grown children. If you want to maintain your independence and enjoy your Golden Years, responsible financial planning is a must.

You can't be expected to know everything about preparing for your long-term financial future. For this reason, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professionals exist to help you set aside your money now and manage it successfully into the future. If you're unfamiliar with CFP® professionals, it's time to learn more about this role before entrusting such an individual with your hard-earned money.

In simple terms, a CFP® is an individual who helps you responsibly manage your finances. In reality, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER is a designation of professional certification that is awarded to financial planners by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. In order for an individual to earn this certification and practice as a CFP®, an individual must meet education, examination, experience, and ethics requirements.

What are the Requirements to become a CFP®?

Individuals interested in becoming a CFP® have to complete a series of extensive exams in order to earn the designation. These exams cover critical aspects of financial management, including but not limited to, financial planning, taxes, insurance, estate planning, and retirement. In total, there are 100 topics covered in the curriculum, which is delivered in the equivalent of 18 semester credit hours. This generally equates to six courses in total.

In the United States, a CFP® must hold a Bachelor's degree in order to practice as a financial planner. Even with a degree and successful completion of the exam, CFP® professionals must complete three years of financial planning experience before using the CFP® marks to promote themselves.

Why Work with a CFP®?

Working with a CFP® means entrusting your money to someone who knows more about financial planning than you do. While you've done well to save your money and consider your future, the ins and outs of the market and mutual funds, among other investment vehicles, are not well known by all.

A CFP® can help you with any and all of the following:

· Setting realistic financial and personal goals.

· Assessing your financial health at the moment by looking into your assets, liabilities, income, insurance, taxes, and investments.

· Create a realistic plan to help you meet your financial goals, while identifying financial and investment opportunities that build on your current financial strength.

· Put your plan into action.

· Keep you on track to meet financial goals.

When you decide to work with a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER, you've made a smart investment in your long-term financial health. As you consider working with a financial planner, look for an individual with the CFP® certification. Contact Financial Asset Management Corp. today and work with one of our CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professionals.
